Summer is our busiest season of the year and to help cope with the volume of orders we receive, we recruit a handful of temporary people every year to join our warehouse team.
Graham Smith, our HR Manager says: ““We are proud to invest in young people across the business to help strengthen our existing workforce for the future. They bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, while gaining valuable skills and confidence that can shape their future careers. By giving these young people opportunities, not only does it help develop the next generation of talent but also give the teams they work with new perspectives and energy.
"Over recent years, quite a few of our temporary summer staff decide to join us on a permanent basis and go on to have successful careers which is a hugely satisfying outcome for us both!
"This year, we warmly welcome Kelsey Bird, Seth Holden, Sam Lawson and Tobey Fullerton to our backshift team."
Kelsey (first left) has returned for her second summer in the warehouse.
Seth Holden (second left) is a university student, who is currently studying English & Creative Writing at Northumbria University. His school friend, Sam (pictured second right) joins him.
Completing the line-up is Tobey Fullerton who lives at Hallbankgate; he found the position online, applied and is excited to be joining the team!
Double the success: two sets of twins team up

Kelsey & Robert ...
Kelsey is now into her third year of studying Criminology at Edgehill University and she joins us for her second summer of working.
She says: "Working for the summer is great way of financing your way through university and has given me some invaluable experience of the real world of work."
Her twin brother, Robert, also works in our warehouse as a permanent member of staff so she decided to join him.
Robert has worked as part of our team since November 2023 and is happy to have his sister back at work as he likes to play the older brother part ... even if he is older by just four minutes!
Sam, Harry & Graham ...
Sam Lawson is studying Sports Journalism at UCLAN. He not only joined his friend from school this summer, but his twin brother, Harry, and uncle, Graham.
Harry, works in our accounts department and just began his career with us a couple of months ago. They are now working alongside their uncle, Graham Smith, who is our HR Manager.
